about

By revisiting the instrument that first sparked his passion for sound, Stephen Connolly pays homage to his childhood bedroom roots of playing droning notes on the very same model Magnus Chord Organ that stood next to his bedroom window overlooking the tall Northern Red Oak trees of his rural lake community neighborhood; whistling, whirling, and communing with the birds and leaves while conjuring versions of "Old McDonald" and "Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star."

Within this sonic expedition, the plastic chord organ, a relic steeped in the sepia tones of childhood, becomes the oracle through which each track on this release unravels. In this sonic cosmos of "Organ Premise," memories morph and emotions surge, painting nebulous landscapes as the spectral tones of the Magnus Chord Organ, with help from the Norns Shield and reverb, recoil within the confines of sound.
